Prerequisites

From the home screen, press the Menu Key and touch Settings > Applications > Development. Touch USB Debugging > OK to turn it on.

  1. Your phone should not be connected to your PC at this time. On your PC, go to http://www.lg.com/us/support/mc-support/mobile-phone-support.jsp and click MOBILE SOFTWARE UPDATE.
  2. Download LG Mobile Support Tool to your PC.
  3. Click Install USB Driver. Select U.S. Cellular and then double-click LGUS740. Follow the prompts to install the driver.
    Once the USB driver is installed, connect your phone to your PC with a USB cable. The tool will check the PC’s connection with the phone. (If connection status is not progressing, please close and reopen LG Mobile Support Tool.
  4. Click Start Updating. The tool will analyze the phone environment, i.e., checking connection status with the phone.
    Your phone will then begin to install the update. Do not disconnect the USB cable. If your phone’s user memory has less than 23 MB of free space, your upgrade will stop. If your phone does not have enough space, you will need to uninstall unwanted applications or, if permitted, move applications to your microSD card.
    Once the progress bar reaches 100%, the update is complete. You may now power on the phone.
